No! All international and Dutch students stuyding at one of the six Higher Education Institutes: Utrecht UniversityHU University of Applied SciencesHKU University of the ArtsUniversity of Humanistic StudiesMarnix Academy or Tio University of Applied Sciences can buy an ESNcard. In other words, it does not matter whether you are doing an exchange for one or two semesters, a full bachelor program, a full master program, an internship or whether you are a PhD student. As an international you can join on a non-binding basis or as a volunteer of one of our committees.

With an ESNcard (€8,-) you can buy tickets for all our events. You can buy the card at our ticketshop. After your payment, you have to pick up the physical card at our office. The address of our office is Princetonplein 9, 3584CC Utrecht. At the bottom of this page you can find our opening hours.

You can also become active in one of our 11 committees or our Running Team or Music Team. These committees have different responsibilities. Some organise activities, others keep internationals up to date, promote ESN or keep the overview of the organisation. Committees start their work at the beginning of each academic year. However, we start looking for committee members at the end of the previous academic year. Sometimes spots open after one semester; keep an eye on our social media channels!

The ESNcard is the membership card of the Erasmus Student Network, which means that you can access all the services offered by ESN and our partners. The aim of the ESNcard is to support and give opportunities to international students during and after their exchange. The card is valid for one year.

Keep your ESNcard ready and enjoy its advantages! With the ESNcard you will not only enjoy many discounts at the local partners of ESN Utrecht, which you can find here, but you can also enjoy thousands of discounts (housing, sport, food, bars, etc.) all over Europe. So wherever you travel in Europe, make sure to bring your ESNcard!

After you order an ESNcard online, you will receive an email with the QR code of your card. If you have not received an email within 24 hours, check your spam inbox and other mail folders like ‘social’ or ‘promotion.’ You only need this QR code once and that is when you want to pick up your your ESNcard at our office.

If you cannot find the email of your ESNcard code there, please send an email to [email protected].

No worries! You can come to the ESN office during office hours. For €1,50 you will receive a new ESNcard.

Just make sure that you have a new one before the next activity!

First of all, you need an ESNcard. If you purchased this, you can buy tickets online via our ticketshop. You need to fill in your ESNcard code. This is the code above the bar code on the physical card. In order to be applicable to purchase the ESNcard, you must be either an international or Dutch student (exchange/full degree/internship) or a currently active volunteer at ESN Utrecht.

Please take a look at our calendar to see what events might be interesting for you to join!

We accept many payment methods: Creditcard, iDeal, Giropay, Alipay, Bancontact, EPS, Multibanco, Przelewy24 and WeChat Pay.

Almost every foreign credit card is accepted, so also cards of non-Dutch banks. However, it might be that service costs turn out higher with a foreign bank account.

You are always more than welcome to pass by! We would love to help you out, get to know you and answer all of your questions.

We understand that life can sometimes be very overwhelming. That is why ESN Utrecht has assigned two people who are there to assist, inform, guide, and support you whenever you encounter any problems that you want to discuss with them. If you ever feel the need to talk to someone about personal or confidential matters, you can always reach out to the ESN Utrecht confidant (one of the board members). If you feel more comfortable talking to someone outside of the Executive Board, you can reach out to our confidential advisor. For example, if someone wishes to point out the misconduct of a board member or a volunteer, if someone feels disadvantaged by a board member or volunteer or if someone sees something happening within our organisation that is not ethical and/or legally justified, he or she can contact our confidential advisor.

The ESN Utrecht confidant is Rose Özüm, you can reach her by emailing to [email protected]. You can contact her to discuss any personal or confidential matters.

The ESN Utrecht confidential advisor is Lucie Šanderová, you can reach her by emailing to [email protected]l. You can contact her about anything that you do not want to discuss with any of the board members.

Both the confidant and the confidential advisor can be reached by anyone involved in the ESN Utrecht network, meaning they are the point of contact for both volunteers as well as other ESNcard holders. Click on Health and Wellbeing for more information.

We are aware of the big housing issue in our city. It can be quite difficult to find a room. We are not a housing agency. However, we try to provide you with enough information about housing.
